For These Our Blessings
We Give Thanks

For the wild and vast unknown,
For the earth beneath our feet,
For the glowing light of dawn,
For twilight’s peaceful ease.

For friends who share our grief,
For laughter, joy and tears,
For worldly time tho’ brief,
For health throughout the years.

For daily work and sweat,
For those who guard our shores,
For idleness and rest,
For those who guard our homes.

For families to embrace,
For those who’ve gone ahead,
For God’s amazing grace,
For trials through which He’s led.

For freedoms won with blood,
For blood shed in the strife,
For tables weighed with food,
For hope and peace and life.
